Friday 17 May 2024 at 6pm at the Ubik Bookshop located in via Irnerio n. 27 a meeting will be held with the public around the book “The Evoker and other stories” by Emmanuel Di Tommaso, to be released on 17 May 2024 by the Infinito Edizioni publishing house.

He will dialogue with the author Antonio Panico, Director of Grande Kalma – Micronarrative laboratory and literary magazine.

The book is made up of thirteen stories set in an unpredictable universe, founded on the hegemony of the Nameless, ruthless creatures from the Beyond, the unknown galaxy, who have taken over our world. With the inner dimension of the protagonists at the center of the narrative, each story turns out to be a window on souls in dissolution, forced to face the demons of the impossible that takes shape, giving life to desperate forms of resistance conducted through utopias, action, inaction and confessions.

The author Emmanuel Di Tommaso (Catanzaro, 1987) began writing as a teenager, after being struck by reading Arthur Rimbaud’s Une saison en enfer. In the first years of writing he dedicated himself mainly to poetry, publishing three books: “The place of skulls” (2014), “On the wooded threshold” (2016), “While you are kidnapped by the hurricane (2020)”. He won the 2011 Città di Chiaramonte Gulfi national poetry prize. His stories have been published in numerous literary magazines such as Bomarscé, Quaerere, Grande Kalma, Malgrado le flies, Morel voci dall’isola, Biró, Carie. “The Summoner and Other Stories” is his first book of short stories.
