Publish a book, thanks to an incipit: the first traveling literary talent is looking for aspiring writers at the Turin International Book Fair. Crea Incipit, the appointment on Sunday 12 May at 2.30 pm, is a real writing competition. Starting from the key words indicated by the jury, the competitors will have to create an incipit in 3 minutes, read it aloud in 60 seconds and then be judged by the audience present in the room. Participation is free and open to everyone, beginners and non-beginners, of all nationalities. The winner will receive a book voucher worth 30 euros.

Special guest: Raffaele Cataldo. Born in 1991 in Puglia, he graduated in Modern Languages and Literatures in Bari and attended the Holden School in Turin, where he lives. “Di me non sai” (Accento Edizioni) is his first novel.
Create Incipit was born from Incipit Offresi, the first traveling literary talent dedicated to aspiring writers, conceived and promoted by the ECM Foundation – Multimedia Civic Library of Settimo Torinese. Incipit Offresi is a real writing talent, the space where all aspiring writers can present their book idea. In 8 years Incipit Offresi has discovered more than 60 new authors, published 70 books and involved more than 10 thousand people, 30 publishing houses and more than 50 libraries and cultural centers. Incipit Offering is an innovative opportunity to become writers and promote reading and writing, a bet based on a few lines, an investment in the author’s potential. The real chance of the initiative is the possibility offered to aspiring writers to meet and dialogue directly with the publishers involved in the various phases of the project, make themselves known and tell their idea for a book.
