Friday 10 May 2024 – “Il Maggio dei libri” of Barletta presents itself to its audience with a musical reading conceived on the representation of some of the most famous and nostalgic songs by Pino Daniele.
The show, entitled “Napulè. The thousand colors of Pino Daniele”, is inspired by the book of the same name by Fulvio Frezza (Florestano Edizioni), created with the collaboration of the “Lettidipiacere” Association and the Barletta Book Presidium. It is scheduled for 6.30 pm on Saturday 11 May in the “Vittorio Palumbieri” Red Hall of the Castle.
Free admission. The author will be the narrator accompanied by music by Domenico Mezzina’s guitar.
“This story – reveal the organizers – is an account given to himself when Pino tried to find things, people, events left out due to his unstoppable desire for new things. The fear of not having enough time accompanied him and prevailed after the discovery of the disease, pushing him to hasten any changes.
It is the novel of a life that begins in a small and crumbling neighborhood of his Naples and which better than many other stories describes this city and its singular people through family, friendships, first successes, his loves and passion. for Eduardo De Filippo, in a certain sense a guide and example to follow.
When time comes, our time, we would like to have the opportunity to look back, to put many things in their place. Pino, in his own way, had tried: all his last years had been dedicated to retying those threads that he had let loose following the too fast course of a life made up of many experiences”.
“The May of books”, characterized by the slogan “If you read you lib(e)ri” is promoted by the Ministry of Culture (Centre for books and reading), with the State Printing and Mint Institute, the Italian Association Publishers and the Italian Library Association.
