BOSCONERO. Appointment on Friday 10 May, in Bosconero, in the setting of the municipal theater in via Villafranca 5, for the first presentation of the new book, hot off the press, by Marco Rolando, entitled Il grande larice, published by Hever. The subtitle of the event is “Waiting for the exhibition”. For Marco Rolando, debuting with his first presentation of a book in Bosconero is not something new, but a fortunate habit that has become a habit. Marco Rolando, 57 years old, born in Locana, always in Ceresole, is a ski instructor, wood carver, sportsman, writer. The Great Larch is his fifth book and follows the lucky Max the tightrope walker (Hever editions), a touching story of friendship and the mountains. The first book was Stone Men, released in 2018.

The great larch takes up some themes dear to the writer Marco Rolando and expands them in the formula of the story. In the book we find Elio (a sort of alter ego of the author, the name chosen is a tribute to a dear friend of his who is no longer with us) and the illustrations which from the second book (The old man and the eagle) make Even simply flipping through the pages of the volume is lively and enjoyable. A collaboration, the one with Francesco Sisti and Cristina Bo, undoubtedly enriching for the book.

The great larch, it was said, is a set of stories with a common thread that brings back the themes dear to the writer, that is, stories, friendship, the mountains. The stories are a tale that also represent a sort of passage between generations. There is an adult (Elio) who tells the story and there is his daughter, a little girl, who listens. Under the larch is the place where the stories of real stories and places are told. A way to rediscover old anecdotes of the area and relive values and passions linked to the mountains. And, who knows, encourage you to look for them.
