There are 59 activities carried out in Porto Torres to encourage reading, 5 thematic bookpoints located throughout the area, 3 new sections in the municipal library, a library to reach all the neighborhoods, the possibility of accessing an online Medialibrary. These are the numbers that emerged during the final event “But what noise did LaL make”? – which took place in the Filippo Canu room – of the entire year of work aimed at promoting reading in Porto Torres, carried out through “LaL-legarsi alla Reading”, the winning project of the ministerial tender “City that reads” coordinated by Comes, the cooperative that manages the municipal library.
Beyond 2,400 thousand people were involved between library workers, teachers, authors, actresses and actors, city associations and, above all, students from primary to high school. The initiatives aroused so much interest that the coverage of the library’s social media posts reached 60 thousand users: 8,500 likes for just one post, the one dedicated to the “A bookmark to bond with reading” contest.
A blue denim ribbon like the thread with which Maria Lai “tied” the community of Ulassai to its mountain. The project was inspired by the work of the artist from Ogliastra. Also present at the presentation of the project was the councilor for culture, Maria Bastiana Cocco, who thanked everyone for the enthusiasm that animated each activity and underlined the municipal administration’s commitment to guaranteeing, also for the future, all necessary support for the work of the library.
