Having reached its 7th consecutive participation, the Faenza publishing house Homeless Book is preparing for the 2024 edition of the International Book Fair, which will open its doors from Thursday 9th to Monday 13th May, with many new features, some of which will be the absolute national preview. The publishing house will be a guest at the Alleanza delle Cooperative stand in the Oval | pavilion T78.

Here is the program of events

National preview on Friday 10th at 5-6pm: Daily tirade – Little nursery rhymes in CAA

The authors Sarah Fort and Lucia Mazzi (Speech Therapist) present the 49th title of the HB Alternative Augmentative Communication catalogue: an illustrated book containing a series of short and engaging nursery rhymes to make even the parentheses of the day that less enthuse the little ones more enjoyable.

National preview on Saturday 11th at 3-4pm: Dialogue incorpo – Where does the breath of words end with Artificial Intelligence?

The authors and high school teachers Mauro Sandrini (Ravenna, blogger for Il Fatto Quotidiano) and Ilaria Vaglini (Pisa, also teacher at the University of Pisa) discuss the topic by presenting their latest publication Il dialog incorpo – Let’s cultivate outposts of Humanity and empathy to govern the emergence of artificial intelligence at school, at work and in life. The book also contains an interesting speech by Professor Angelo Gemignani, Professor of Psychobiology and Physiological Psychology at the University of Pisa.

Sunday 12th at 1-2pm: Social parents in the times of Tiktok and Onlyfans – How to educate children to use the Internet in a positive way

The authors Ilenia Bozzola (Psychotherapist specializing in the topic of self-esteem) and Costanza Galante (Psychologist, deals with digital education, raising awareness of the conscious use of social media) present the book written together with Andrea Bilotto from Cesena (President of the Italian Association of Prevention to Cyberbullying and Sexting, deals with youth and school problems throughout Italy).

Sunday 12th at 3.30-4.30pm: Can everyone read? Reading and writing courses for children with complex communication needs

Anna Cardinaletti (Teacher of Glottology and Linguistics, Ca’ Foscari University, Venice), Beatrice Giuliano (Linguist, PhD, President of the LISabilità Aps association) and Maria Caterina Minardi (Clinical linguist and scientific director of the Homeless Book CAA series) will discuss with the public in the room on the extraordinary implications that the universal right to reading poses for users with complex communication needs, particularly in children. The laboratory offers a transversal approach to history, meanings and letters to accompany younger people in the discovery of reading through the use of multimodal strategies, such as sign languages ​​and augmentative and alternative modalities.
