The evening will also be enriched by the contribution of Rosanna Nocera who will introduce us to the novel through readings.
The protagonist is Ligheia, passionate about painting, who soon becomes an established artist. At just over twenty years old, during a trip she has a special encounter that makes her discover an unknown aspect of herself. This revelation shocks her and, upon returning home, she confides in her mother. Sirio, who had always kept his daughter in the dark about her, is forced to tell her the whole truth. The further discovery of the existence of Scilla – a cousin she didn’t know she had, hospitalized in a hospital in Germany – makes Ligheia’s profound identity crisis even more acute. Inside her two irreducible and opposing natures collide. At the moment in which she is choosing the one who gives her absolute joy, her mother’s depression prevents her from doing so, forcing her to remain beside her. After years of loving care, during which Ligheia almost disappears, she finally meets Stanislao in Milan, the love of her life. From this union Nina will be born. One day, while tidying up the house, she discovers a clue in a drawer that leads her to Ginostra, on the island of Stromboli. Over the course of a night spent at sea she will face various tests that will lead her to find the answer to all her doubts.
