Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in New York to participate in the UN General Assembly. After New York, Zelensky will go to Washington where he will be received by Joe Biden at the White House.

“Thanks to the success of our troops, the enemy’s defensive line was broken” in the direction of Bakhmut. And yet, it’s not very fast,” he added. “We have to clear our territory as much as possible and move forward, even if it’s less than half a mile or a hundred yards, we have to do it,” he continued. “We must not give Putin a break.” Commenting on drone attacks on Russia, which Ukraine does not officially recognize, Zelensky stressed that Kiev “uses partners’ weapons only on the territory of Ukraine”, but “Russia must know that whatever place is used to launch missiles to attack Ukraine, Ukraine has every moral right to attack those places.”
Kiev, ‘2 dead from Russian raids on Kherson last night’
Two people have died following Russian attacks on the Kherson region of Ukraine overnight. This was stated by the governor of the oblast, Oleksandr Prokudin, in a message on Telegram cited by Ukrinform. “Following an attack in Kherson, a 72-year-old man died. Another was injured, he was rescued on the spot,” the message read. “A private house was hit in Kizomys. An elderly woman died instantly from her injuries. Chinese Foreign Minister visiting Russia until 9/21
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Russia between now and September 21 for security talks, his ministry has announced. “At the invitation of Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Wang Yi… will travel to Russia to hold the 18th round of the Sino-Russian Strategic Security Consultations (SSCC) from September 18 to 21,” we read in a statement published on the ministry’s website.
Moscow, Kiev drones shot down in Crimea and near the capital
Russia says it shot down several Ukrainian drones overnight in annexed Crimea and in the Moscow, Belgorod and Voronezh regions. “Drones were intercepted over the western, southwestern, northwestern and eastern areas of the Crimean peninsula, over the Istra (west) and Domodedovo (south) districts of the Moscow region, over the Belgorod and Voronezh regions (south -west)”, the Ministry of Defense announced in a statement without specifying the number of aircraft shot down. The note also states that “the workshops of the Kharkiv plant where the repair and restoration of armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were carried out were hit by a missile attack.”
