Belluno is stronger: Savigliano knocked out 3-0 at the Spes Arena

Monge-Gerbaudo Savigliano tries, but fails to end the year with a success or points, losing in three sets against the strong Belluno Volley, which definitely proves to be among the best equipped teams in the entire A3 Credem Banca Series.

The chronicle of the match

Coach Mastrangelo is forced to give up Berger and the flu-flu Mozzato among the Venetians. Coach Serafini, however, does not have to deal with absences (except for that of the long-term patient Dutto) and proposes the current “typical” sextet. The new entry Bacco starts from the bench, with Galaverna permanently in the new role of libero, alternating with “Paolino” Rabbia.

The first set is one-sided, with Belluno breaking straight away and setting the ball. Serafini stops the game at -4, but his team doesn’t come back, with the hosts putting a sequence of balls on the ground and flying away. The usual Giannotti is leading them, but above all it is the wall that makes the difference. At 16-8 we are already thinking about the next set, with Belluno closing the game 25-15.

It is always the opposite that favors his team’s lead in the second set (8-2), with Loglisci and Corrado doing the rest. The former Schiro tries to mend things “desperately” in the final, thanks to two consecutive aces, but there is nothing to be done: 25-16 and 2-0.

The third set was a bit separate, because this time the Piedmontese put pride into it (6-8) and remained hooked on the match for a long time. At 18-18, however, Belluno decides it’s time to close it out and runs away, this time with Cengia on the shields in both fundamentals. The Saviglianese reaction involves the cancellation of two of the six match points won by the Venetians. In the third, however, the ball goes to Giannotti’s safe arm: point number 18 for the top scorer of the match and 3-0 for Belluno.

The match ends after 73 minutes of play, and with it a rollercoaster of 2025 for Monge-Gerbaudo, who can now turn the page for a 2026 that will hopefully be full of satisfactions. The “good morning” will be the home match on Saturday 3 January at 6.30 pm against Conad Reggio Emilia. Another tough challenge, but the desire for redemption among the Serafini-boys is strong.
