Veronica Ruggeri has been part of Le Iene for more than ten years, and today she is a beloved face for those who follow the Italia 1 program, but few know what she faced.
The “Iena” host of the Vox On Air podcast he remembered his first steps to Mediaset, underlining how it was not easy to move to Milan, Veronica also recalls, how difficult it was to maintain the frenetic pace given his young age at the time. After graduating from the scientific high school of Borgotaro (Parma), Ruggeri began studying economics and marketing, while he studied he worked in a barher employer managed to convince her to sign up for the Miss Italia competition, thanks to which she won the Miss Miluna Emilia Romagna sash.
Miss Italy was the first stepping stone towards Le Iene, thanks to that occasion he had a meeting with Max Carola: “One evening I hosted a village show, organized by a gentleman who in the afternoon on the beach had met a former collaborator of Le Iene, Mix Carola, who after seeing me at the show immediately thought of Le Iene. I was 20 years old and when I heard of Le Iene I jumped in, I felt the urge to leave my country”.
Veronica, ex of Nicolò De Devitiis with whom to date he seems to have no relationship despite the fact that they share the same job, he remembered the first few months fondly moved to Milan, where he knew no one and had no contacts. “Le Iene is a beautiful environment, but everyone goes very fast and works all day and has little time to watch the 21-year-old girl who has to learn. I saw the others going fast and I instead observed and obviously didn’t earn. My parents are normal people and it was difficult for me to ask for a hand. The more months went by, the more difficult it was”.
Given the enormous difficultymore than once he thought about giving up, giving up everything and returning to his parents’ home in the province of Parma, but to his rescue to change their minds an author of Le Iene has arrived: “I don’t even know what they saw in me. Riccardo Festinese, who is an author of Iene, is the person who in reality I will always have to thank, because he was the first to believe in it and the person who listened to me when I wanted to leave, because it happened often”.
During the interview the correspondent of Le Iene he recounted the difficult period he experienced in Milan, and told a funny anecdote of which she was the protagonist: “In that period I remember so many young people of my age arriving, leaving, coming back and leaving, because it was complicated. Then it was broadcast once a week and rightly they had to do a strong episode, they couldn’t do the episode of Le Iene about a 21 year old girl who didn’t actually know how to do anything. I had to learn by watching others and already the opportunity they had given me to stay there watching and learning was great, but it was difficult for me to be able to sustain that life. I also found myself at a certain point – I hope Pier Silvio Berlusconi don’t listen to this podcast – stealing toilet paper from Mediaset. That also happened because I was struggling, that is, it was very difficult. I ate at Mediaset at midday, I ate at Mediaset in the evening, I practically never went out, but I was 21.”.
Veronica, concluding the storyconfessed that she didn’t experience her 20-year-old period like her peers, for her at the time what mattered was work and achievement to make people proud of her who loved her: “At 21, a girl usually doesn’t live that life. I, on the other hand, was a hammer. I was a young old woman, that is, I was old. My colleagues were all much older than me, I wanted to be a bit like them. There was Nadia Toffa in that period, she and I didn’t seem that different in age, in reality she was older than me. Everyone told me not to run and not to be in a hurry, but I didn’t have time, because for me it was an expense.”. The video where he talks about toilet paper brought a smile to many users’ faceswho shared the video on various social networks.
