Maria Corleone officially opens the 2023/24 season of Canale 5 dramas: the cast includes a face loved by fans of Un Posto al sole.
The new Mediaset drama Maria Corleone has officially started Wednesday 13 September in prime time on Canale 5. The story, inspired by the successful series “Rosy Abate”, focuses on the events of the protagonist Maria (played by Rosa Diletta Rossi), who will find himself questioning his life to defend the honor of his family, entangled in the mechanisms of the mafia.
The cast of the drama is made up of successful actorslike Fortunato Cerlino in the role of head of the family Don Luciano Corleone, Giuseppe Tantillo like Rocco Baresi, friend of the Corleone family. But in the cast there is also a face known to fans of the Rai3 soap Un Posto al Sole. Let’s talk about Vladimir Randazzo, one of the most interesting and talented young Italian actors of the moment. To many he is known as Nunzio Cammarota of UPASbut in the Canale 5 drama he plays the role of Giovanni CorleoneMaria’s twin brother and Don Luciano’s heir.
In an interview the actor defined his character as follows: “Contemptuous of danger, the operative arm of the family’s trafficking, Giovanni hides a protective and generous side, and is very close to his brothers. However, he is too sure of himself and in a land like Sicily, where bold people are often short-lived, this aspect of his character will penalize him.”
Born in 1994, the actor is from Ragusa, therefore it has Sicilian origins. He trained at the National Academy of Dramatic Arts “Giusto Monaco” INDA in Syracuse. His great passion is the theatre, where he took his first steps. We saw it on TV “The Young Montalbano” and in “Squadra Antimafia 8”.
In the 2019 the actor also made his debut on the big screen in the film A mano disarmata, before returning to television in 2021 in Un Posto al Sole taking on the role of Nunzio Cammarota, Franco Boschi’s godson. The actor’s many fans will now also be able to follow him in Maria Corleone, in which he plays one of the most enigmatic and profound characters.
