The third episode hides an easter egg (or rather three) about Daenerys Targaryen, literally

Finding the Easter eggs that recall Game of thrones in House of the Dragon is one of the favorite activities of fans who, episode after episode, enjoy analyzing each scene and developing theories. In the case of the third episode of the second season, available in Italy on Sky and in streaming on NOW, it was almost too easy. And never like in this case are they literally eggs, although more than Easter they are… dragon eggs.

House of the Dragon 2 and the Game of Thrones connection in episode 3

In a scene from the third episode of season 2 of House of the Dragon as seen by Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) entrust to Rhaena (Phoebe Campbell) four dragon eggs. His task is to take them first to the Valley and then guard them in Pentos, after crossing the Narrow Sea. The most attentive have noticed that three of the eggs are respectively golden, green and black exactly like the three in the pilot episode of Game of thrones are given to Daenerys for her wedding. As we know, at the time of Daenerys it was thought that dragons were extinct and that those eggs were petrified. Later, however, they hatched into the three dragons Viserion, Rhaegal Drogon who helped the Targaryen queen conquer Westeros but also brought about her downfall.

Director’s Confirmation: They Are Daenerys’ Eggs

Talking with Mashablethe director of the third episode of House of the Dragon Geeta Vasant Patel confirmed that those three eggs are indeed the dragon eggs that many years later will end up in the hands of Daenerys. “Those are Daenerys’ eggs. All of us who work on this series are big fans of TheGame of Thrones so it was very exciting to shoot that scene,” Patel said. But if Danenerys has three eggs, what happened to that fourth one? It’s fair to assume that it will hatch into the dragon that Rhaena will ride, at some point. But the director left that a mystery.
