Accident on the Path of the Gods: 22-year-old hiker dies

This morning there was a tragic accident along the Path of the Gods, located between the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Coast. A young twenty-two-year-old hiker of Finnish origin fell near tile 7 of the path.

Immediately alerted, the 118 emergency medical services arrived at the scene of the accident to provide assistance. However, due to the dense vegetation, the woman could not be located. Subsequently, the territorial teams of the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of Campania arrived in support, followed by the Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza of Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi.

After a brief search, the rescue teams found the hiker in an area below a precipice of several tens of meters, where she was supposed to have fallen. The operators of the CNSAS and the Guardia di Finanza facilitated the operations of disembarkation of the medical team from the helicopter, which confirmed the death of the young woman.

At the moment, the delicate operations to recover the body are underway.
