“The fact does not exist”. The head doctor Giuseppe Re and the head nurse Cinzia Castellani are not responsible for the death of Rosa Calderoni, who died in April 2014 at the age of 78. The Ravenna Prosecutor’s Office today requested acquittal for the former head nurse and former head nurse, Giuseppe Re, 74 years old, resident in Bologna, and Cinzia Castellani, 68 years old, resident in Fusignano. Both were accused of murder with possible malice Rosa Calderoni, who died a few hours after being admitted to hospital in Lugo. The case of Rosa Calderoni’s death had opened the investigation into the 50-year-old, now former nurse, Daniela Poggiali, who last January was definitively acquitted of the charge of having killed the 78-year-old with a potassium injection. For the Ravenna Prosecutor’s Office, the two defendants, despite many alarm bells, had not at the time taken the necessary precautions to prevent Daniela Poggiali from killing the patient. With the acquittal of Daniela Poggiali, the death of Rosa Calderoni was also definitively deemed a natural death. There was no murder.
