The 11-year-old’s condition is stable in Porto Sant’Elpidio: accident on the pitch

Even if the prognosis has not yet been resolved, the conditions of the 11-year-old boy who on Sunday afternoon was the victim of an accident inside a five-a-side football pitch under renovation are stable. The doctors at the Salesi pediatric hospital in Ancona, where the 11-year-old is still hospitalized, are confident, even if they prefer to proceed with caution due to the head trauma found. The boy, together with some friends, had entered a five-a-side football pitch under renovation located in the Corva district of Porto Sant’Elpidio. It was shortly after 6.30 pm, when the 11-year-old entered the municipal construction site, that of the multipurpose platform, work on which began in recent days. Once inside, the small group started playing with the ball, using one of the goals present in the pitch, but not fixed to the ground precisely because it was undergoing maintenance. The boy had clung to the crossbar of the soccer goal, which had become unbalanced until it fell on the 11-year-old, crushing him to the ground. The boy also suffered a head injury in the fall. The health workers of 118 and the Green Cross of Porto Sant’Elpidio immediately intervened on site and, given the seriousness of the situation, had requested the transfer to Ancona.
