Dozens of residents in Savignano and in the municipalities of the Rubicone Valley are asking to remove the road warning sign at the top of the Savignano-Gatteo provincial road near the roundabout on Via Emilia. The reason for this request lies in the fact that a few days ago the sign, probably during the night, was damaged by a truck or a truck with a particularly high load which literally tore it (photo). People’s fear is that in the event of strong winds or storms the sign could break further and in this case fall onto the very busy road as the provincial road 33 from Savignano sul Rubicone leads, among other things, to Gatteo at the Valle del Rubicone toll booth of the A14 , from which hundreds of trucks leave every day headed for the many companies in the municipalities in the area.
The possibility of an act of vandalism is ruled out, as the sign is too high. However, how it could have happened is yet to be defined as it was certainly broken by a truck coming from Gatteo and going in the direction of the Via Emilia roundabout in Savignano. But the sign is broken and bent on the Gatteo side, while it should be on the other side, towards the mountain. It is very likely that the stuck truck backed up a bit and then bent the sign to pass and run away. But that sign, whatever happened, is considered dangerous. Hence the request for its immediate removal, its arrangement or the installation of a new sign and road signs. Before anything serious can happen.
