As if we were at the cinema, a caption should also be placed here, “forbidden to the faint of heart and the easily impressionable”. Because the window we’re about to open is beyond imagination, it’s a crazy script.
The plot is that of disappearance from Emanuela Orlandi And Mirella Gregorithe two teenagers who vanished within weeks of each other in the late spring of 1983. The last incredible truth comes out of some tapes, part of a long one interviewin which the voice of a prominent Roman underworld is engraved, business partner of the boss of the Banda della Magliana Renato De Pedis who had (euphemism) quite a few footholds in the Vatican.
According to CU – the initials are fictitious, the Reformist knows his true identity; the two girls frequented the most private apartments of the Vatican where they would have suffered harassment And sexual relations with high prelates. That’s why they had to disappear. It would have been De Pedis who had been given the job.
“When the thing had become a crap the Secretary of State Casaroli has decided to intervene”, this is the exact transcription of one of the most important passages of an interview dated 2009 in which the ex-partner of De Pedis reveals the motive of the double disappearance.
“You can’t do anything with this truth,” the criminal wrote to the author of the interview Alessandro Ambrosini. And there is an even more chilling detail, important statesmen knew everything, informed by the same associate of the boss.

Common criminals or terrorists? If this from the very beginning of the mystery was the question- who kidnapped Mirella and Emanuela– the real question has always been the motive: because? Why two teenagers had to be kidnapped, why Vatican emissaries entered the negotiations, why Pope Wojtyla a few days later he made a appeal for Orlandi, a case that is not rare but unique in the history of the papacy?
And why in the course of these “negotiations” was never asked for proof of the existence of the kidnapped girls in life?
Today these tapes, partial testimony of more than four hours of interview from the internal corporis of the Magliana summit, reveal the most incredible of motives: the two girls would have been made to disappear because they were witnesses and protagonists of a sexgate in the most private rooms of the Vatican, at that time inhabited by Pope Wojtyla who would not have been – again according to the “knitter” CU – unaware of the story.
Here is the precise passage of the tape that the Reformist he was able to listen uncensored: “When the thing had become crap the secretary of state [vicario del Papa Agostino Casaroli n.d.r.] decided to intervene”. “Not directly, always according to the testimony, but involving”the chaplains of the Regina Coeli prison”. The first names of these prelates are disclosed in clear text by De Pedis’ ex-partner and are therefore easily identifiable. The intervention, i.e. the kidnapping of the two teenagers, would have been contracted out to De Pedis. This is why the boss killed in 1990 would have been buried in a famous basilica.
“De Pedis is buried there as a grace received,” says the ex-partner. It was 2008 when the former partner of De Pedis meets Alessandro Ambrosini revealing his truth about the Vatican intrigue. He refuses to be filmed but his voice is still recorded. The decision not to reveal the name of the author of these shocking revelations has a very simple reason: to protect the witness, now at large, and to allow possible investigations, if there are any.. The caliber of the character is undoubtedly of “level”, certainly reliable when he talks about De Pedis, reliable when he talks about his relations with state apparatuses. Everything else will be a matter of investigation.
The context
The hypothesis that Orlandi had suffered harassment inside the Vatican has been overshadowed by many, journalistic investigations but also by some investigators. If then this was one of the many reasons that put the Vatican under blackmail by the Magliana but also of other circles it is too early to tell. What is certain is that those were the lead years of finance in which the IOR Vatican and mafia bankers, Sindona And bald above all, they transacted billionaire deals and helped write entire chapters of Cold War history with anti-communist funding in Poland And South America. Blood-stained money: because they belonged to the Sicilian mafia and the Magliana and anyone who set out to reveal the business plot – journalists, investigators, bankers – became a target to be shot down.
It is in this context that the kidnappings of Orlandi and Gregori take place on which the silence of the Vatican is perpetuated, from Wojtyla to Pope francesco.
