GROSSETO – The firefighters mourn the loss of Sergio Bronchini, who has always been very attached to the service. Since 1985, the year in which he began his career as a firefighter with the red helmet, Sergio had dedicated his life to the firefighters. In recent years, Sergio had become seriously ill, but had never stopped fighting. Unfortunately, a relapse worsened his condition and this morning, Wednesday 3 July, he passed away in a hospital in Perugia. Sergio had recently turned 58.

A life in the Fire Department

Sergio began his career with the firefighters during his military service and, after an initial assignment in Borgomanero, returned to Grosseto. He was one of the first to intervene on the occasion of the sinking of the Concordia, distinguishing himself for his courage and professionalism. Thanks to his skills, he was one of the few to receive recognition for career advancement.
