The city’s public prosecutor’s office has opened a case of road homicide following the death of Roberto Grasso, the 57-year-old motorcyclist, originally from Priverno (in the province of Latina), who on Friday 28 June was seriously injured in a collision with a car, which occurred in the early afternoon in Acquapendente, along the Cassia Nord, a few steps from the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre.

After the accident, Grasso was rescued by 118 and rushed first to the Aquesiano hospital and then by helicopter ambulance to Belcolle, where he died on Saturday evening due to the injuries he suffered to his neck.
A 90-year-old driver, who was unharmed and is represented by the lawyer Vincenzo Dionisi, has been registered as a suspect.

Autopsy today

Today, Dr. Benedetta Baldari, on behalf of the prosecutor Michele Adragna, will perform the autopsy on the body of Roberto Grasso, who served with the Air Force at the General Staff in Rome and who, at the time of his fatal accident, was in Tuscia to participate in a motorcyclists’ rally.
