Cardano al Campo, July 3rd Every year on July 2nd the bond with Laura Prati in the memory of that tragic day in July 2013 is strengthened: then mayor, she was seriously injured by the gun shots exploded by the former local police officer Joseph Pegoraro which also injured the deputy mayor Costantino Iametti.
The example and life testimony of Laura Prati, who died about twenty days later in hospital in Varese, are a light on, a constant point of reference. 11 years have passed since that terrible 2nd of July, yesterday morning in front of the town hall the ceremony, an intense and participatory moment, present alongside Laura Prati’s family, her husband, her two children, the new mayor of Cardano Lorenzo Aspesi, the representatives of the municipal administration, mayors and administrators of the territory, citizens, the members of the municipal council of children, established by Laura Prati, remembered by the very young Greta Mariotto.
Aspesi’s words were moving: “This is my first commemoration of Laura, one of the first official acts of my administration, with the tricolour sash that I dedicate to her”, then the personal memory “my classmate, together in the majority in 2007”.
