San Benedetto del T.(Ap).- “Reve de Vie”, the shipowner’s vessel Herman Galeatia member of the Circolo Nautico Sambenedettese, achieved a brilliant result at the Italian Offshore Sailing Championship, which took place from 24 to 29 June in Brindisi.
Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, with a mistral wind of more than fifteen knots, the vessel ranked first in the Cruising Class, its category, and third in the overall ranking.
“For us – says the skipper Angel Galeati– it was not a favorable context because the Reve de Vie is a boat that performs best when there is little wind. However, we still managed to get by very well. We defended ourselves well, finding the right setting of the boat to be extremely competitive. The level of the opponents was very high, but we also managed to achieve a high average score in the races in which we were protagonists”.
With the Italian Absolute Offshore Sailing Championship, the season for this type of boat ends. “It was an excellent 2024 especially after this Italian title – it is always Angelo Galeati who speaks – without forgetting that in 2023 we were crowned European Champions. If every year were like this, it would be a good way to go. We will now see what 2025 has in store for us”.
Great satisfaction for the Italian title won by Reve de Vie was expressed by the president of the Circolo Nautico Sambenedettese, Igor Baiocchi. “A great and wonderful piece of news that makes us happy. When we present our cultural and sports programs for the summer of 2024, it will also be an opportunity to award Ermanno Galeati the Collare d’Oro al Merito Sportivo of the Circolo Nautico Sambenedettese, our member for more than 40 years, and we will also give a medal to the entire crew. It is the first time that, as an association, we have awarded this honor, because Ermanno Galeati has brought prestige to the club by achieving these important results with perseverance and great fair play, qualities that distinguish him as a man, entrepreneur and athlete”.
