The Slovenian cyclist conquered the 139.6 km Alpine stage from Pinerolo to Valloire

Tadej Pogacar ha won the fourth stage of the Tour de France, the 139.6 km Alpine stage from Pinerolo to Valloire. The Slovenian rider took off in the final kilometres of the Galibier, taking advantage of the great work of his team that had worn out the leading group, and left all his rivals behind on the climbs before throwing himself headlong into the descent and triumphing alone on the finish line in Valloire. Behind him was Remco Evenepoel, 35″ behind, with Juan Ayuso third to deny the bonus to Primoz Roglic, fourth with the same time. Jonas Vingegaard also did well, being the last to surrender on the climb to Pogacar and then being caught on the descent by the other men in the standings behind him. Thanks to this success, the champion of the UAE Emirates team he returns to wear the yellow jersey, as former leader Richard Carapaz has sunk on the slopes of the Galibier.

The general classification was revolutionized in the first stage with arrival in France after the Grand Depart from Italy. Pogacar back on top with 45″ advantage – also thanks to the discounts – on Remco Evenepoelthird Vineyard at 50″. Giulio Cicconeninth at the finish at 2’41” from the winner, is in ninth place at 3’20” from the captain of UAE Team Emirates.
