Spoleto, 2 July 2024 – In Spoleto, last weekend was all about safety, even more so if it coincided with the start of the 67th edition of the Festival, in order to ensure the ordinary running of the event.
In this context, the Carabinieri of the Company Command, on the opening night of the event, that is, Friday, reported at large to the local Public Prosecutor’s Office a boy, class of ’04, of Albanian origins, without a fixed abode in Italy, checked because he was caught in a suspicious attitude while walking in a street in the historic center, found in possession of 5.7 grams of a narcotic substance of the cocaine type, already divided into 10 doses and ready to be sold to third parties.
Subsequently, on Saturday evening, there was a further intervention by the military of the Company’s Mobile Radio Unit, when the Operations Centre received a request for intervention for a road accident involving two cars.
Once they reached the scene of the accident, a completely unexpected scenario opened up for the military personnel. In fact, the owner of one of the vehicles involved, upon the prompt arrival of the Gazellehad already fled, thus arousing the suspicions of the Carabinieri who, having collected the first and useful testimonies from the owner of the other vehicle involved, immediately began searching for the individual.
Within a few minutes, the latter was tracked down and immediately appeared to be in a very agitated state, so much so as to induce the officers to further investigate.
After a careful search of his vehicle and home, in fact, 112 grams of cocaine, a precision scale, as well as material for cutting and packaging doses of drugs were found in his possession.
On the basis of such significant circumstantial evidence collected, he was declared under arrest for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing and, after the celebration of the summary trial, with the validation of the restrictive measure, the obligation to report to the judicial police was triggered.
Persons under preliminary investigation are presumed innocent.
