The Municipality of Riccò del Golfo di Spezia is grateful to be able to host a public meeting dedicated to cancer prevention. Extremely professional meaning in a context of maximum dialogue. The appointment is for Wednesday, July 3 at 6:00 pm in the Council Chamber. Asl 5 and Airc interpret a need, sometimes unexpressed, on the part of the community, for competent support. This social need, which involves every area of knowledge of the concept of disease, proves to be of great support in the process of overcoming the limits imposed by the pathology.
After an initial technical-administrative phase, carried out by Asl 5 and directed by Dr. Floriana Pensa, aimed at raising awareness among the district’s municipal administrators, carried out in Riccò during 2023, we propose a public dissemination approach.
In fact, it is always necessary to keep in mind that there are specific prevention and screening measures, such as to guarantee an initial health census, which represents an important civic policy on the future and serenity of public health. The pandemic had triggered delays that today see a clear recovery on the proposed themes.
This event is part of the broader preventive medicine action in which the Municipality of Riccò del Golfo is active in partnership with ASL 5, the Socio-Health District and the Red Cross of Riccò.
The initiative will be attended by Dr. Pensa, a specialist in epidemiology and a screening referent for ASL 5, Dr. Lorenzo Camellini, director of the complex structure of Gastroenterology for ASL 5, Dr. Daniela Gianquinto, a specialist in breast plastic surgery and clinical director of the Breast unit for ASL 5, and Professor Paolo Paterno, a referent for Airc La Spezia.
The moment of reflection also comes by virtue of a broader need to involve the population on the issue of health before it becomes the object of specific emergencies.
The municipal administration takes this opportunity to renew the invitation to the population to participate and take advantage of the many opportunities for prevention and healthcare access offered in the municipal area.
