On Friday, July 5, in Barletta, the Alfredo Reichlin Institute and Svimez are organizing, in collaboration with the Municipality of Barletta and UniCredit, the second day of studies dedicated to Alfredo Reichlin, after the first edition last year. The meeting, which will be held at the Sala Rossa “Vittorio Palumbieri” from 10:30 to 17:30, will be an opportunity to discuss industrial policies and the South, with academics, economic operators and institutions.
The works will be introduced by Cosimo Cannito, Mayor of Barletta, Adriano Giannola, President of Svimez and Pietro Reichlin of the Reichlin Institute. The panel “Southern Industry in the European Context” will follow, with an introduction by the President of the Reichlin Institute Giuliano Amato, the reports of Luca Bianchi, Director of Svimez and Francesca Lotti of the Bank of Italy. Then the discussion with university professors Maria Savona of LUISS and Francesco Prota of the University of Bari. A round table on “Where is the Southern Economy Going?” is then planned with Raffaele Piemontese, Vice President of the Puglia Region, Antonio Accetturo of the Bank of Italy, Valeria Fascione of the Campania Region and Sergio Fontana of Confindustria Bari.
In the afternoon, the second session dedicated to “Public and private in a ‘Southern Europe’ will see the report of the SVIMEZ researcher, Serenella Caravella on “Lessons from a policy experience: when do development contracts work?” followed by the round table “Building a ‘European’ southern industrial ecosystem: business, banking, research”, with the introduction of Pier Carlo Padoan, President of UniCredit and the interventions of Renato Martire, of STMicroelectronics; Maria Luigia Bucci, General Secretary of CGIL Puglia; Ferdinando Natali, Regional Manager South of UniCredit and Gian Paolo Manzella, Vice President of Svimez.
The event is scheduled to conclude at 5:00 pm with Oronzo Cilli, Councilor of the Municipality of Barletta, Giuliano Amato and Adriano Giannola.
