L’fire It broke out shortly after 6am today, Tuesday 2 July: the firefighters were alerted to intervene along the A4 motorway shortly before the new Montecchio Maggiore toll booth junction in the direction of Verona due to the fire in the tractor unit of an articulated lorry: no one was injured.
The driver of the heavy vehicle, with a metal box and which was transporting packaged furniture to be assembled, noticed smoke and had time to pull over and get out, while the vehicle caught fire.
The fire brigade teams arrived from Vicenza and Arzignano with two fire engines, two tankers and ten operators, put out the flames, thus avoiding the involvement of the semi-trailer. However, the fire affected four noise panels on the highway. After the vehicle was turned off, highway traffic was channeled into a single lane. The highway auxiliary personnel and the highway police were on site. The causes of the fire, which are probably electromechanical in nature, are being examined by the fire brigade teams that intervened.
