A new generation is coming for one of BMW’s icons. A feast for the eyes. The price says it all about its value
We’re past the halfway point of 2024 and BMWat least for its motorcycle department, is already thinking about 2025. The news that there will be important updates for the most important models in its range that will be presented next August was released a few days ago.
The most anticipated one is certainly the K 1600 GT which, in its Sport version, can now count on the new Racing blue metallic color scheme. However, it will not be the only bike that will be renewed. There will also be others, much appreciated by the public.
It will also be up to the GS which are the most appreciated by enthusiasts, especially Italian ones. In addition to special promotions, important updates are planned for these motorcycles. Among the models that will surely be successful, there is one that was presented only a few days ago and that has already conquered for its charm.
BMW, what a show the new R18
If there is a custom that has been among the most appreciated globally for years, that is the R18 Roctane which now presents itself with a new look, more streamlined and elegant than those that preceded it. At first glance you notice the 21″ front wheel (previously they were 19″ or 16″ like the other R 18s), which makes the front end even more streamlined and which now also has a new long and enveloping metal mudguard.
The riding position then changes, with a high handlebar and a thicker saddle that allow you to sit higher from the ground (720 mm). Among the gems of this BMW then there are the side cases (the same as the Bagger), very bulky on the outside, also in metal and that increase the weight of this model. What style then the front headlight, modern but that harks back to that of the ’60s.
The heart is the 1,802 cm³ air-cooled boxer, 91 HP and 158 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm, which also has specific mappings such as Rock, Roll and Rain, in addition to cruise control. For the rest it is one of the most enjoyable BMWs to drive everdespite the weight. Even if it is not among the most comfortable, given the soft suspensions. Of course, the price is not for everyone: starting from 26.500 eurolike a car in short. But for a show like that, there will surely be someone who will spend them
