Marseille – Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), together with China Shipbuilding Trading (CSTC), has christened and delivered the 13,000 TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered containership CMA CGM Belem, built for the French group Duffy Marine. Hudong-Zhonghua has delivered 12 vessels since the beginning of the year, completing 60% of the annual plan, ahead of schedule.
Designed by the Marine Design and Research Institute of China of the CSSC, the vessel has an overall length of 336 meters, a width of 51 meters and a maximum capacity of 13,200 TEU. The container ship adopts a dual-fuel LNG power system and It is equipped with liquid cargo tanks with a capacity of 14,000 cubic meters.
It is also equipped with the main engine Cmd-WinGD9X9DF-2.0the most advanced in the world, also created by CSSC, and the new generation Icer (Intelligent Controlled Exhaust Recirculation) system, which reduces methane emissions in gas mode by 50% and greenhouse gas emissions by over 28%.
