The benchmark selling price of natural gas increases by 11.7% in July 2024 compared to June.

“Shrinkflation”
From 1 July 2024, supermarkets must inform consumers about products subject to “shrinkflation”, also known as “reduflation”.
Supermarkets will have to inform consumers of products whose quantity decreases, but which are sold at the same or higher price.
“Shrinkflation” (also called reduflation) is the term used to define the commercial practice according to which the price of the product increases or remains unchanged while the quantity sold decreases.
Although legal, this practice is controversial because the consumer cannot detect it at the time of purchase.
Therefore, for greater transparency, distributors of medium and large stores will have to, starting from 1 July 2024, inform the consumer of the consumer products affected by this “shrinkflation” practice.
This new information obligation concerns shops with a sales area greater than 400 m².
