Francesco Agnello’s is the alternative path to Daniele Silvetti. The entrepreneur and new patron of Us Ancona has been knocking on the mayor’s door for days without being received, but he knows that if today the last attempt to create a new company from the groups that participated in the tender does not succeed, Silvetti will have to evaluate the possibility of dealing with him. For the good of Ariosto football but also for the coffers of the Municipality of Ancona.
Because at stake is also that acquisition of the land intended for the sports center expired last June 30 for which the lawyers of Us Ancona in recent days, via certified email, have requested a six-month extension. A matter of no small importance also for the coffers of the Municipality which would be forced to make a significant budget change to deal with the “hole” left by the failed negotiations with the company then in the hands of Tiong. To evaluate and decide, after having completed the plan of Francesco Agnello that should lead Us Ancona, with the approval of the mayor Silvetti who has not yet received, to the registration in supernumerary to the D series. The procedure dictated by the internal organizational rules of the Football Federation seems to be clear and evident, but many are the facts that have occurred in recent weeks, before and after the sale last June 26. And on these facts, Francesco Agnello’s lawyers seem to want to leverage to achieve the goal of enrolling in Serie D. Francesco Agnello and his collaborators, who in fact constitute the new management of Us Ancona, are proceeding quickly and, in this sense, they would appear to have made just yesterday the payments of the salaries of the biancorossi members relating to the months of March, April, May and June, the heaviest item in Us Ancona’s liabilities, equal to approximately 1.4 million euros, including social security payments, tax withholdings and severance payments. But they would also have prepared the 400 thousand euros to be paid to the FIGC. Furthermore, there is also the question of the 5% ownership of Mauro Canil, just yesterday contacted by Agnello’s lawyers. In recent days, Canil had let the new owners know that he was available to sell his percentage and was contacted yesterday: in the next few days, the appointment for the transfer should be set. Soon, very soon, but not necessarily by next July 4th. In fact, Agnello’s lawyers would like to focus on the timing of this change of ownership, to allow Us Ancona to obtain admission to Serie D in excess of the number of players, and the intention to also acquire 5% of Mauro Canil would seem to confirm the very firm intentions of the new owners. Agnello therefore seems to continue on the path he took last Wednesday, from the day he became the owner of Us Ancona, confirming all the intentions expressed, more or less clearly, in the press releases of the last few days. If Silvetti is now unable to bring a new company to fruition, he could find himself in a position to take into consideration this time what Agnello and his collaborators have done in recent days. In fact, it could be the only way forward to bring Ancona football to the finish line of Serie D in excess of the number of players.
