There is a suspect in the death of Luca Pulsinelli, the commander of the forestry carabinieri, on duty at the Villetta Barrea station. Pulsinelli, 50 years old, originally from Alvito, lost his life on Saturday 15 June, due to a road accident that occurred on the 83 Marsicana, in the Municipality of Opi. The Sulmona prosecutor’s office has entered ADADF, 51 years old, unemployed, originally from and resident in Opi, in the register of suspects. The alleged crime is road homicide. The hypothesis of failure to provide assistance is also being evaluated.
The story
The Carabinieri of the Castel di Sangro Company, led by Captain Giuseppe Testa, have seized the 51-year-old’s car, a Ford Fiesta, in which he was traveling at the time of the fatal accident. Based on the testimonies acquired from several people, the small car was traveling on the regional road 83 Marsicana, in the direction of Villetta Barrea. At a crossroads located in the peripheral area of Opi called “Casette”, which leads to the “Cementi” source, it turned left without giving priority to the Suzuki 600 motorcycle, driven by the victim, who was traveling in the opposite direction. Due to the risky maneuver of the car, the forestry carabiniere lost control of the vehicle and violently impacted the wall of the drainage canal. Luca Pulsinelli was returning to his home in San Donato Val di Comino, in the province of Frosinone, where he lived with his wife, a teacher, and his son. It was around 8:30 p.m. when the tragedy occurred. The forest ranger had just finished his shift.
During the investigations of the Carabinieri, the statements of a lawyer were determined, who together with a group of cyclists, were pedaling in the same direction as the centaur. The latter, before the crash, had passed them. The accounts of other people who witnessed the accident were also valuable. The investigators were provided with useful information, to reconstruct the dynamics of what happened and identify alleged responsibilities. From the autopsy performed by Professor Cristian D’Ovidio, in the morgue of the hospital in L’Aquila, it emerged that the extremely rapid death of the soldier was caused by cervical trauma, due to the impact against the wall. The cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, carried out first by the 118 health workers of Pescasseroli and then by the doctors of the hospital in Castel di Sangro, were useless. The commander’s heart had already stopped beating when they arrived. We are now waiting for the results of the technical checks on the victim’s motorcycle, to verify any mechanical problems and to define the speed sustained that fatal day. As well as on the suspect’s car and on the conditions of the road surface, in the section involved in the accident.
