The condition of the 71-year-old motorcyclist involved in the accident near the Chiaro tunnel along state road 36 in Colico, which occurred at 1.30 pm today, is serious. The dynamics of the events are being examined by the traffic police who intervened on site to investigate. From an initial dynamic, the motorbike would have grazed the car and in the impact the motorcyclist would have flown several meters onto the asphalt.
On site, the medical car from Lecco, the Red Cross ambulance from Colico and the air rescue from Como that took the motorcyclist in red code to the Circolo hospital in Varese where he arrived at 3:31 pm. His conditions are said to be very critical as he suffered various traumas to the chest, abdomen, pelvis and a lower limb. Traffic heading south, towards Lecco, was blocked with long queues for a couple of hours, and was then made to flow along a single carriageway to avoid a total block.
