NewTuscia – ROME – The AIB agreement between the firefighters and the Lazio region was signed a few days ago and the first critical issues are already appearing for the firefighters of Rome and the province who have to deal with extraordinary forest fire interventions with the personnel and ordinary means and equipment. “We need to understand – comments Riccardo Ciofi, general secretary of the FNS CISL Roma Capitale and Rieti – where the 3,000 firefighters declared in recent interviews by the provincial and regional leaders of the Corps are. We already have numerous important interventions and some already queued throughout the territory of Rome, in particular in the Prenestina quadrant – Gallicano, Poli, Mentana, Fonte Nuova and also a warehouse in the Castelli area and we are unable to set up vehicles and teams” .

“Words, continues the trade unionist, must be followed by facts. The AIB Campaign will bring a real boost only from 1 July next with around 50 firefighters a day who will work overtime spread across teams and dos in addition to volunteer associations. We must understand that we must provide a real picture of the current situation of the Corps and all work to guarantee the efficiency of ordinary and extraordinary public assistance also in anticipation of the Jubilee 2025″.
