Back and forth Zaccagni-Viti, Lazio and Sassuolo end at 1-1

AGI – On the last day of the championship, Lazio and Sassuolo end their season with a 1-1 draw. At the Olimpico it is a two-faced match. Strengthened by seventh place and participation in the next Europa League, the hosts tried right up until the end to secure victory in front of their fans and bid farewell to the departing Felipe Anderson in the best possible way. On the other hand, the sad face of Sassuolo, who after eleven consecutive championships bid farewell to Serie A. Ready, go and Lazio who after just three minutes forced Cragno into overtime thanks to an unprecedented offensive tandem made up of Gila and Hysaj. The two teams play head-to-head but, in the 31st minute, the home team again appears in the opponent’s area with Kamada who, from a close position, calls Cragno into intervention to avoid the worst. Sassuolo struggled by moving the center of gravity backwards, but in the 44th minute it was Ballardini’s team on the restart that took a shot with Mulattieri before the break.

In the second half the story of the match didn’t change and the hosts started to grind out the game again in search of the opening goal, which came in the 60th minute. From the midfield, free kick from Zaccagni who, with a poisonous right-footed shot, deceives Cragno for the 1-0 which breaks the deadlock. Having lost the deficit, Sassuolo immediately tried to shake themselves off and succeeded in the 66th minute: from the right, a free kick taken by Thorstvedt and the ball landed at the feet of Viti who, from a few steps away, beat Provedel and scored the 1- 1. The equalizer did not extinguish Lazio’s offensive verve as they poured into the opponent’s half of the field in search of the winning goal, but Sassuolo’s defensive resistance withstood the shock wave and the match ended at 1-1.
