San Severino (Macerata), 25 May 2024 – Moments of fear in the night due to a fire inside the “La Pizzeria” factory (which produces pizzas in fact) in Taccoli, San Severino. The chimney caught fire around 4.30 am. The workers who had started the night shift raised the alarm. The timely intervention of fire fighters of the Tolentino detachment, on site with the help of colleagues from Macerata with the ladder truck, contained the fire, preventing the flames from spreading to the entire structure.

The presence of the workers and the owner was also invaluable, as they immediately realized what was happening. According to the reconstructions, the fume extractor would not have worked. This would have caused the temperature of the flue and the suction motor to rise, both of which were damaged by the flames. However, the activity did not stop, with the exception of the oven connected to the flue which caught fire. There were no injuries (rather than smoke, it was heat), but only damage whose extent is currently being assessed. The firefighters remained on site for a couple of hours to extinguish and make the area safe.
