In the last hours, WINDTRE is informing some of its already mobile network customers of a remodulationwith which the operator the monthly cost of the offers involved will increase starting from 10 July 2024but Before of this it will also increase the Giga bundle. Furthermore, there is the possibility to avoid the price increase using the command OPTIN to have an alternative Plus offer.

The operator published on the day of today, May 23, 2024, dedicated information in the section WINDTRE Inform of its official website, which as indicated is reserved for customers with some prepaid mobile offers that include data traffic.

Starting today the contractual changes will be communicated to interested WINDTRE customers via an SMS containing all the details applicable to the specific active offer on the mobile line.

In case of lines with a family offer Under 14is also sent also a communication to the parent’s telephone number, indicated during activation.

This new unilateral modification of the contract announced by WINDTRE is very similar to the previous remodulation which involved some of the operator’s mobile customers, therefore providing first an increase in gigabytes, and only subsequently the increase in the monthly costhowever with possibility of avoiding the price increase with the command OPTIN to get the offer Plus.

The increase in gigabytes from June 2024 and in the monthly cost from July 2024

In detail, for WINDTRE mobile network customers affected by the contractual change, the remodulation involves an increase of 2 euros per month in the cost of the offerwhich will be adjusted starting from renewals after 9 July 2024 (so off we go from 10 July 2024).

Before the monthly cost increasefor the customers involved, progressively starting from 10 June 2024, additional free Giga will be activated.

In particular, based on the active offera increase in the data bundle from a minimum of 30 Giga up to a maximum of Unlimited Giga at the maximum speed available. The amount of additional GB is indicated in the personalized SMS for each customer.

However, it is specified that, in case they are obtained Unlimited gigabytesbefore the change in the monthly cost any additional paid data options that are no longer necessary will be deactivatedallowing you to benefit from saving of the relative monthly cost, which will no longer be charged.

Any benefits in terms of incremental gigabytes already active, deriving from WINDTRE fixed network offers, will however remain valid.

In any case, for to justify upcoming changes, it is indicated that “WINDTRE continually invests in improving its network with the aim of offering customers an increasingly reliable and faster connection”. In fact, as indicated in the information, the offers involved will be modified precisely for this reason and for “market needs”.

Command available OPTIN to switch to the Plus offer without increase

As alternative to these variationsthe WINDTRE customer involved in the remodulation can also choose to activate a Plus offer with its current costs and contents, but with an integration of Giga or SMS without additional costs, as stated by the operator “for the inconvenience caused to the customer”.

Inside the information SMS are reported details on the integration foreseen for your Plus offer: depending on the case, it is 1 Gigabyte or 50 additional SMS per monthwhich will be returned available starting August 2, 2024.

To get the Plus offer, thus avoiding the proposed increase of 2 euros per monthand at the same time also getting 1 Giga or 50 more SMS, it is necessary send the text “OPTIN” via free SMS to the number 40400, by the date indicated in the SMS message received.

In this case, the customer will still receive the free additional GB communicated via SMSprogressively starting from 10 June 2024 and with the deadline indicated on the dedicated page, the link of which is present in the same SMS.

It should be noted that, as also happened with the remodulations that came into force in recent months, the inclusion of the ISTAT clause is not communicatedso these customers they do not seem to be affected by the contractual change that links the monthly prices of the offers to the trend of inflation.

In the case of offer changein stores through dedicated offers or independently, as already reported by MondoMobileWeb, the ISTAT clause will instead be applied.

However, on December 15, 2023, AGCOM announced that he had the new regulation governing contracts between telephone operators and end customers has been approvedwith which the innovations foreseen by the communications code are implemented and a new one is also introduced regulation on the possibility for operators to adjust the prices of offers based on the trend of inflation.

One of the measures adopted, for example, is that the application of the adjustment cannot take place, in the first application, before 12 months from the contractual adhesion. Furthermore, the use of additional percentages compared to the inflation figure, as provided for by the WINDTRE clause, will determine the possibility for the customer to withdraw free of charge.

As already reported by MondoMobileWeb, the new approved regulation was then published The January 3, 2024. Anyway, To find out how WINDTRE will adapt, we will still have to wait. For now, the operator’s price adjustment clause note remains unchanged.

How to exercise the right of free withdrawal with WINDTRE

So far as do not accept the aforementioned changes (And did not intend to switch to the Plus offer either), as provided for by article 98-septies decies paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree 207/2021, i.e. the new European Electronic Communications Code, customers affected by this new remodulation can still exercise the right to withdraw from WINDTRE services or switch to another operator without penalties or deactivation costsin any case within 60 days of communication via SMS.

To do this, customers must submit a communication with reason “modification of the contractual conditions”, in particular through the following channels: registered letter with return receipt to the address Wind Tre SpA CD MILAN NUMBER BAGGIO PO Box 159 20152 MILAN MI; via PEC, writing to [email protected]; WINDTRE points of sale; call to 159; WINDTRE website by filling out the appropriate form available in the section “Useful forms – mobile”.

The operator underlines that, if the voice offer has been activated in combination with another line, voice or data, mobile or fixed, this will remain active unless explicit deactivation is requested. Otherwise, any benefits present on the line that remains active may be lost.

In case of withdrawal, if it was associated with the line affected by the change a contract for the installment purchase of a current product (for example smartphone or tablet), it is possible to indicate in the communication whether to pay the remaining installments in a single solution or to keep the installment plan active with payment in installments until the natural deadline.

WINDTRE finally specifies that, in case of offers from the Under 14 familythe right of withdrawal must be exercised by the parent.
