115 inches and 24,000 euros: we tried TCL’s super Mini-LED TV

TCL organized the Time to Go Big event in Milan to present the news of its TV offer for the Italian market in relation to the year 2024, also revealing the prices for each individual model.

The lineup includes models with a QLED PRO panel, more affordable models with a DLED panel, and high-end models with a QD-Mini LED panel. Among the latter, the highlight is the TCL 115X995 MAX, a gigantic television 115 inches which is capable of reaching a peak brightness of 5,000 nits thanks to a 20,000-zone backlight system.

TCL’s new Mini LEDs promise improved uniformity, deeper blacks and greater longevity thanks to Quantum Dot Pro technology which involves the use of a new quantum crystal material. In all of this, TCL has also renewed its partnership with the FIGC and will therefore be alongside all the Italian national football teams.

TCL 115X995 MAX, THE LARGEST QD-MINI LED IN THE WORLD

Inevitable protagonist of the scene, the TCL TV 115×995 Max it is a 115-inch model which, announced at CES 2024, is equipped with a 4K QD-Mini LED panel with 144 Hz refresh, an Onkyo 6.2.2 audio system and a 20,000-zone backlight which with its 5,000 nits of peak promises a top-level HDR experience.

On the software side, the screen features include various gaming-oriented features such as HDMI 2.1 connectivity, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), FreeSync Premium Pro technology and Game Accelerator mode which limits the resolution to 1080p (Full HD) but brings the refresh at 240 Hz. The TCL Game Bar and Game Master Pro 3.0 technologies are also present. The whole at the modest sum of 23,999.00 euros.

TCL 98C655 AND 98C855, THE 98 INCH BAND

TCL also presented two new 98-inch models which each belong to a different series. Let’s start from the top of the range C65 series, the TCL 98C655, which costs 2,999 euros and is equipped with a 144 Hz 4K QLED PRO panel with VRR technology and Game Accelerator mode. Specifications include 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut and Onkyo’s HI-FI 2.1 audio system.

Let’s go up in level and price with the TCL 98C855top of the range of the C85 series, which costs 5,999.00 but boasts a QD-Mini LED panel with 2,304 lighting zones for 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The 144 Hz maximum refresh in 4K and 240 Hz maximum refresh in 1080p remain unchanged, but the audio system changes. In this case, in fact, the sound passes through an Onkyo 2.2.2 210W Hi-Fi system which promises a high-level DTS Virtual:X experience thanks to a series of speakers positioned at 360 degrees.

TCL C65 AND C85 SERIES, THE OTHER MODELS

All equipped with a 4K QLED PRO panel and an Onkyo audio system with integrated subwoofer, the other models of the C65 series They are available in sizes from 85, 75, 65, 55, 50 and 43 inches in the version without local dimming; and in the 75, 65 and 55 inch variants in the variant with local dimming. Refresh drops to 60Hz, but can be pushed up to 120Hz in 1080p thanks to the ubiquitous Game Accelerator mode.

The C85 series also includes 85, 75 and 65 inch models; like the flagship model, the aforementioned 98C855, they are all equipped with a 144 Hz 4K QD-Mini Led panel, 240 Hz Game Accelerator mode in 1080p resolution and Game Master Pro 3.0 technology. The peak brightness, despite the inevitable decrease in the number of lighting zones, remains 3,500 nits for the 75 and 85 inch models. However, it is very high even in the case of the 65-inch model: 3300 nits.

TCL P75 SERIES, FOR ALL POCKETS

They close the list the P75 series televisions which has 76, 65, 55, 50 and 43 inch variants. The panels are DLED type, the refresh is 60 Hz, the declared coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut is 93% and the prices range from 399 euros to 999 euros. Also in this case the equipment includes both Game Master 3.0 technology and Game Accelerator technology which allows you to reach 120 Hz refresh rate in 1080p resolution.
