Restoration work on the façade of the Oratory
The Confraternity of San Pietro Apostolo, based in the Oratory of the same name, has organized a meeting open to the public for the weekend aimed at illustrating the techniques, methods and materials used for the execution of the works relating to the restoration and conservative restoration of the façade, the bell tower and the frescoed loggia of the Oratory of San Pietro
The Prior of the Confraternity, Giorgio Ansaldi, specifies “I have been insistently asked by many people to organize this event to illustrate and make known the works that have been carried out on the façade of the Oratory. We waited a little because, given the complexity of the works themselves, they lasted quite a long time, justified by the difficulties encountered, the results of the
analyzes performed on existing materials, from the need to intervene promptly and precisely.”
The meeting proposed in the Oratory will take place on Friday 24 November, at 5.00 pm and is aimed at everyone, both professional technicians and simply interested people, that is, all those who want to further deepen their technical knowledge on the subject, or those who simply wish to know how to proceed to carry out a restoration on a monument of great historical-artistic importance.
To facilitate learning the various processing phases, slides will be projected on which to comment, explain and clarify the various moments of the restoration and the restorers will bring their contribution, explaining how they behaved to carry out the work.
