SAN SALVO. “Fiom expresses deep concern regarding the news reported on the Milano Finanza website entitled: “Automotive, TE Connectivity ready to close two factories in Italy. 500 employees at risk.”

According to the journalistic source, it seems that due to the decline in demand in the Italian market, the Swiss-American multinational, listed on Wall Street and specialized in the production of terminals and connectors for industry, is evaluating the closure of the factories in Collegno (Turin ) and San Salvo (Chieti), with a total of 500 employees.

In response to this news, Fiom immediately requested an urgent meeting with Te Connectivity of San Salvo and Confindustria, in order to verify the veracity of this information.

Confirmation of this decision would have devastating consequences both for the workers involved and for the entire territory.

Fiom hopes for an urgent meeting to address the situation and seek concrete solutions to support employees and local employment”.

Thus, the general secretary of Fiom Cgil Chieti, Alfredo Fegatelli.

This is the company’s note that clarifies its position: “TE Connectivity constantly monitors sales and global market conditions and evaluates its operations and business model to ensure long-term competitiveness and growth.

We remain committed to the Italian market; in case of news, we will communicate them to the unions, our employees and interested parties”.
