Google will allow you to change your email address to then use as an alternative email. No changes to linked accounts, from Drive to Photos.
After several years of users asking for a similar feature, Google is gradually making it available. In fact, it will soon be possible to change your email address Gmail connected to your account Google. This possibility was long awaited, especially by those who created their own e-mail address years ago, before Gmail became a central work tool or for obtaining digital identity services.
To change your email address it is good to first know a couple of very important things. The old email address will remain as an alias (and will not be assigned to anyone else) so as not to miss any communications from anyone who forwards emails to the old address. You will be able to access your account with both addresses. After the first exchange you will have to wait 12 months before the next exchangefor a total of a maximum of three times.
To be able to change the address you can verify that the option is active on your account by logging in to it. Simply access the link https://myaccount.google.com/ and follow the path Personal Information and then click on the item E-mail. If the option “Google Account email» is not selectable, it means that the option is not yet active for your account. Otherwise, you can click on Edit and choose the desired address.
After that, Google will send an e-mail to the chosen address, within which there will be a verification link to click to confirm the choice, which will however be reversible if you want to return to the address used initially. None of the changes will affect linked accounts, such as Google Photos, Drive and others in the Alphabet ecosystem.
