First a snowboarding champion, then a highly sought-after drug trafficker: the life of44 year old former athlete converted to the underworld has returned to the limelight after the discovery in its garage of a real fleet of racing motorbikes belonging to some of the most famous riders of recent times.
About fifty Moto GP and SuperBike two-wheelers, worth around 34 million euros: this is the discovery of the Mexican authorities. The cars have been ridden on racetracks around the world by champions such as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso, Loris Capirossi and Andrea Iannone.
Also included in the “motorcycle fleet” are the one with which Marc Márquez won the 2012 Moto2, and the Aprilia 125cc which earned Rossi first place in that same category.

Canadian, former Olympic snowboard athlete in 2002, Wedding He still figures among the FBI’s 10 most wanted fugitives. The news of the confiscation of his two-wheeled treasure was confirmed by the official account of the US government agency: in the post, the explanation of how several search warrants have been executed in Mexico in recent months.

The charges against him include those of criminal conspiracy with the aim of committing trafficking and export of cocaine, money laundering, witness tampering and conspiracy to commit murder within a criminal organisation. According to the FBI from the role he is covering, Ryan Wedding is able to move tons of cocaine for a trafficking billions of dollars in dirty money.

His athletic career is described as precocious, thanks to being born and raised in a family active in the world of skiing: his maternal grandparents were owners, according to the news, of a ski resort while his uncle was coach of the Canadian national alpine skiing team.
The first of three children, his father was an engineer and former skier and introduced him, after moving to British Columbia, to the world of snowboarding: his first competition was at 15 years old. From there he entered the Canadian national team in the discipline, obtaining a medal first in 1999 and then in 2001.
At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, he competed for Team Canada in the men’s parallel giant slalom, placing 24th.
