As part of the process of valorising the territory, the sports club chaired by Lucio Formicola has chosen to give prestige to new mascot of Municipality VI inserting it on the game shirts
News at home Gabii Rugby. A few days before the restart of the sporting activities of the club that trains at ‘Le Palme’ Center in via Casilina, the news of the authorization for use arrived of the Gabino logo on the game shirts that will be worn by the boys of the categories First goals – U6 – U8 – U10 and U12 in the 2023/24 season.
“When we founded the Gabii Rugby company – he explains Lucio Formicola, president and coach of Gabii Rugby – It was our intention not only to play sports through teaching rugby but also to educate and train the new generations, including enhancing the culture and history of the EST quadrant of Rome that hosts us. Hence the choice of our name which recalls the famous archaeological area of via Prenestina. It came completely natural, therefore, to ask Municipality VI to be able to use the Gabino logo and make it an integral part of our playing shirts to feel, even on the pitch, part of an inclusive reality that brings together the values of sport and the sense of belonging to a wonderful territory that needs to be valorised”.
The Gabino logo, in the purposes of Municipality VI presided over by the mini-mayor Nicola Franco, it is perfectly in line with the path embraced by Gabii Rugby because “it embodies the need to speak to the new generations also through the culture and history of the territory”, adds Formicola. Hence the choice of the Towers Administration to respond positively to the proposal made regarding the use of its mascot “having recognized the cultural, social and sporting relevance of the request”, as stated in the reasons for the authorization.
“I thank President Franco from the bottom of my heart – continues the president of the sports club – because, once again, he has shown enormous availability and sensitivity. We are happy to be able to share this path that has the future of young people at heart with local institutions.”
A synergy also confirmed by the Councillor to the Social Policies of Municipality VI, Romano Amato, who further declared: “The union between history and young people represents a bridge of territorial cohesion full of our values of belonging to the liveliest municipality in Rome”.
Waiting to wear the new game shirts with Gabino, the over 150 among the children and young people of Gabii Rugby train with passion and commitment on Tuesdays and Saturdays on via Casilina in the sports fields of the Centro Le Palme.
“The last sporting season for us at Gabii Rugby ended with record numbers and with great results achieved on and off the field – concludes Lucio Formicola – For this year we have an even more ambitious project, made up not only of sport but also of sociality, events for the territory and for families, education and inclusion courses. This is why we invite all children and young people, from 5 to 12 years old, to come to the camp together with their parents, to discover with us the beauty of rugby and the immense value of being part of a team that welcomes and values everyone in their own right. uniqueness. For new members we have reserved a one-month free trial, certain that once you have discovered this sport you will no longer be able to do without it.”
