Mimmo Di Carlo, Spal coach, spoke on the eve of the match against Juventus Next Gen. His words

On the eve of Juventus Next Gen Spal, Mimmo Di Carlo he spoke like this.

HOW IS THE TEAM – «In recent days we have worked in particular on dynamism and continuity, Tomorrow’s match will tell us if we have made some steps forward. What I have been saying since day one is that we are SPAL and for this reason we must always display a fighting spirit, courage and play. To achieve all this, however, it takes some time so we put the defeat against Perugia aside because we have many games to play in the coming weeks, knowing that continuity and attitude will make the difference.».

GROWTH – «We are aware that we have to grow and improve, but the team always wants and must take the field to win the three points. With Perugia we were unable to show our strengths and we highlighted our weak ones, now we have to reverse this trend and we have to do it right away.”

GAME IDEA – «The attitude you put on the pitch, regardless of the formations, always makes the difference and the mentality is built with training and matches played, taking care of the details from time to time. What matters is having a game model, an idea which, I repeat once again, must always be supported by attitude and continuity. Matches must be played for a full 95 minutes, you cannot stop playing after a goal and if you are down you must give your all to recover and try to overturn the result. We need to keep our self-esteem high, because we have a quality team that allows us to be in a position to make up for any disadvantage.”

ROSE – «The squad is made up of young people and experienced players and we need to give everyone some time to understand what SPAL’s mentality must be: a mentality that must be improved from the point of view of attitude and fighting spirit in the match , without forgetting the game because it is the game that makes the difference. We will certainly make some changes tomorrow, we have a couple of slightly affected players and we are currently understanding whether we will be able to recover them.”

FIRST MATCHES – «I have always maintained that the first five matches would be the most difficult, because they are the ones that will lead us to reach an adequate physical and technical level. Having said that, I have great faith in my team and I am sure that tomorrow whoever of my players takes the field will give everything to achieve the result.”
