THE CUS BERGAMO GIRLS TRIUMPH AT THE “SAN GIACOMO DELL’ORIO” INTERNATIONAL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

First place on the podium for the CUS Bergamo women’s team, which competed in the Venetian tournament in memory of Francesca Bardelle from 14 to 16 September, winning 2-0 over CUS Venezia.
Good first match for the CUS Bergamo team, made up of the club’s athletes Chorus Volley – Bergamo Academy, with which the University Sports Center has recently started a collaboration.
Bergamo, 18 September 2023 – The girls of CUS Bergamo climb to the top step of the podium of the 48th edition of “San Giacomo Dell’Orio international women’s volleyball tournament”Francesca Bardelle memorial, held Thursday 14th, Friday 15th and Saturday 16th September on the Venetian masigns of Campo San Giacomo da l’Orio. The competition constituted the debut opportunity for the renewed training of the Orobic team, made up of the athletes of the sports club Chorus Volleyball – Bergamo Academywith which the University Sports Center has recently started a collaboration.
The historic tournament organized by CUS Venezia in collaboration with the University of Ca’ Foscari saw people competing to conquer the first step of the podium, together with CUS Bergamo et al CUS VeniceThe CUS PaduaThe CUS L’Aquila and the two Croatian teams Vukovar And Zagreb. Six teams, divided into two groups with best-of-3 qualifying matches, which crowned the girls from the Orobic University Sports Center as winners with a score of 2-0, followed on the podium by CUS Venezia, 2nd place, and by Team Zagreb, 3rd place. The teams of CUS Padova, CUS L’Aquila and Vukovar ranked respectively in 4th, 5th and 6th place.
The event, played on the Venetian pitch with the typical paving of the masegno, as well as delivering the trophy to the Bergamo team saw assigned three special prizes: to Carolina Fumagalli of the CUS Bergamo went the Generali Bortoli agency trophy for the best playerto Sara Battistoli of the CUS Venice delivered on Piterpan radio trophy for the best setteret al Team Vukovar The Antenore Energia Fair Play Award.
