Great uncertainty is expected again this year at the Miguel Indurain Grand Prix 2023. The race will measure 203 kilometers with start and finish in Estella, a Basque municipality in the autonomous community of Navarra that historically hosts this race that develops in its surroundings with continuous ups and downs. In between, a race that was half flat and half harder, with three second-category GPMs and one second-category one useful for skimming the group before the finish. In this sense, the double passage from the Alto de Eraul will be decisive, the last of which ten kilometers from the finish, together with those from the Alto de Muru and from the Alto Ibarra.

Estella – Estella (203.2 km)
Compared to the last edition, very few changes in the layout of this race which presents the classic eventful layout with start and finish at Estella. From the start, in fact, the riders will find themselves faced with a series of more or less long and demanding ups and downs, with the first 60 kilometers that will see the peloton tackle the Alto de Grocin before a first pass over the finish line. After about forty kilometres, essentially calm, the first ascent of theAlto de Eraul (3.4 km at 6.1%, max. 18.7), effectively placed in the middle of the race, followed by the short climb of the Alto de Muru and a new passage from the finish line.
At this point we will enter the heart of the race with the passages in succession from Alto Embalse de Alloz, Alto de Arradia and Alto de Guirguillano (2.7 km at 6%, max. 14.8%), followed after 18 kilometers byAlto de Lezaun (3.6km at 5.7%, max. 17.3%), two ascents that will already allow you to make an important group selection. After a new passage on the Alto de Muru, on the Alto Ibarra and on the finish line, you will then enter the last 25 kilometers with the Alto de Irache, followed by a flat section that will anticipate the second climb of theAlto de Eraul, a climb that should prove to be decisive for the fate of the group’s avant-garde. However, the bumps will not end here, given that, for the third and fourth time respectively, it will still be necessary to climb the short stretches of Alto de Muru and Alto Ibarra, the latter just 1400 meters from the finish.
