MotoGP, Brivio: “Joe Roberts in Trackhouse? We’d like to have an American rider”

The driver market puzzle is taking shape, with the biggest pieces falling into place. Many saddles, however, still need to be fixed, some of which are very attractive. Like those of the Aprilias of the Trackhouse team, which has official bikes and a first-rate structure at its disposal, with an old fox like Davide Brivio at the wheel. Fernandez and Oliveira are out of contract.

The first thought is to talk to our two drivers, but we haven’t started doing that yet – Davide explained to motogp.com – I am under contract with Aprilia, but of course we are very close to Massimo and we talk to him constantlythe. We need to first sit down with Raul and Miguel, figure out whether they want to stay or not, and plan for the future. We work very closely with Aprlia, ultimately it will be Trackhouse’s decision but taken together. We are on the same page”.

In case one of the two were to leave, there are at least two names that crop up in paddock chatter. The first is that of Joan Mir – on which Brivio glossed over – the second that of Joe Roberts. Having a stars and stripes driver could be the right move for the North Carolina team.

As we have always said, we would like to have an American driver – declared the team manager – We need to understand if it is the right time for him and what our ambitions are, if the two things coincide, we would be happy to have an American”.
