The 1st City of Imperia Trophy lands at Pino Valle

This weekend, Imperia becomes the stage for an important sporting event, the 1st City of Imperia Trophy – Carletto Oddone Memorialorganized byUnion Riviera Rugby. The tournament will take place at Pino Valle and will see the participation of several teams Under 16 and Uunder 18offering two days of intense competition and fun.

The event begins, forUnder 16, today, Saturday 25 May. The participants will meet at 3pm to hand over the documents and register the teams.

The first match will kick off at 3.40pm, with the Seregno which challenges theOmnia Piacenza. Subsequently, the Seregno will face theUnion Rugby Riviera at 4.20pmwhile the last match of the group will see theUnion Rugby Riviera against theOmnia Piacenza at 5.00pm.

At 5.45pm a special match will be held between the Selection A and the Selection B, made up of a selection of players from the participating teams. The evening will end with the traditional “Third time“at 7.30pma convivial moment typical of rugby where players, coaches and fans gather to celebrate the end of the day.

Tomorrow, Sunday 26 Maywill instead be dedicated to categories Under 18. The young athletes will meet at 10am to hand over their documents, and the first match of the day will start at 10.30am, with theOmnia Piacenza which faces theUnion Rugby Riviera. The match between will follow at 11.15am Seregno And Union Rugby Riviera and at 12 the meeting between Seregno And Omnia Piacenza.

At midday there will be a break before the final match between Selection A and the Selection Bwhich will start at 1pm. The tournament will end on Third time at 2pm, followed by the awards ceremony at 3pm.

The tournament regulations follow the directives of the Italian Rugby Federation for the respective categories, but with some specific variations. One of these is the possibility of requesting a “no contest” for safety reasons without penalty on the result.

Furthermore, there will be no limit on substitutions and the loan of players from other teams registered in the tournament will be permitted. As for sanctions, a yellow card will result in a temporary 5-minute ban, while a red card will result in a permanent expulsion for that match. The matches will take place in two halves, with a short break between one match and the other.

The scoring system is 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and no points for a loss. In case of a tie, priority will be given to the team that won the direct match. If the tie persists, the number of tries scored, the lowest number of tries conceded will be taken into account and, finally, a coin draw will take place.
