The twentieth stage of the Giro d’Italia 2024, which will take place on Saturday 25 May, will start from Alpago and end in Bassano del Grappa. This 184 km route is characterized by challenging climbs and breathtaking landscapes, crossing the Prosecco Hills and Monte Grappa. For those who want to see it on TV, the live broadcast is on Rai2 from 2.00pm to 5.15pm.

The stage from Alpago will cross the Prosecco Hills, including the climb of the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio (4th category). The Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, located in the municipality of San Pietro di Feletto, is one of the historic climbs of the Corsa Rosa. This stretch, 1150 meters long, is entirely asphalted and has an average gradient of 12.7%, with peaks reaching 19%. The Wall has become a symbol of Italian cycling, thanks to its challenging features and its panoramic position. In recent years, the Giro d’Italia has passed over this climb six times.

After 85 km, the runners will reach Monte Grappa, climbing from the Semonzo side up to 1700 meters above sea level. After a descent of almost 30 km, the group will face a second climb of Monte Grappa, followed by a 32 km descent towards Bassano del Grappa. This stage follows the same lines as the 2014 hill climb, won by Nairo Quintana, and will once again attract a large crowd. Monte Grappa is known not only for its climbs but also for its technical descents, as demonstrated by Vincenzo Nibali in 2010, when he pulled away from his rivals on the descent to Asolo.
