Fun match with several chances for both teams, the final result was a fair draw. The hosts broke the deadlock with Fabbian, but Muharemovic’s header gave Sassuolo a precious away point.
Bologna – Sassuolo 1-1, first half report
Different lineup surprises compared to what was expected on the eve. In Bologna Odgaard and Castro start from the bench, in their place Fabbian and Dallinga, Ravaglia confirmed between the posts, on the right lane there is once again Zortea. Among the guests, however, Grosso returns to rely on Candé as a defensive winger instead of choosing Doig; the other ten confirmed with Pinamonti offensive reference flanked by Laurienté and Volpato.
Bologna got off to a decidedly better start as they almost permanently occupied Sassuolo’s half of the pitch. However, I don’t know, the guests are intimidating and in the twentieth minute they build an important action with Volpato who catches Pinamonti in a dangerous position, the center forward controls and shoots towards goal, the conclusion is not exceptional and Ravaglia manages to deflect it with a dive. Around the half-hour mark the game finally lights up: Lucumì misses a clearance and Pinamonti throws himself towards Ravaglia, the rossoblù goalkeeper closes with his foot and Laurienté is imprecise on his rebound. A few moments pass and Bologna is very dangerous with a shot from Dallinga that goes past Muric, but first Idzes and then Candé arrive on the loose ball and clear it away. In the 40th minute, another opportunity for Sassuolo on the Laurienté-Volpato axis, the Australian-born striker takes center stage and unleashes a shot that grazes the post before going out at the back.
Despite the different emotions, the first half ended with a score of 0-0 with Mr. Sacchi from Macerata sending the two teams to the locker rooms after two minutes of added time.
