Lots of work to do for Ars et Labor

Ferrara Mister Stefano Di Benedetto’s Ars et Labor is awaited by the resumption of the training at the “GB Fabbri” in via Copparobut the first official match on the horizon – the day of the Epiphany, in Forlì, against Fratta Terme – is still distant. Externally, the time for taking stock is therefore still valid. The information relating to the performances of the biancazzurri this season can only be partial, as it refers to the first round and some category Italian Cup matches. No report cardno grades, therefore, but judgments that lead to promotions, failures and the remedial exam, to then arrive at the final grade at the end of the return round.

Excluded

From this perspective, we will consider not judgeable the young Romagnoli (third goalkeeper), Mora (about to retire), Occhi (he was only seen in the Cup with Pietracuta), Alcalde (only a couple of appearances, however good), Juan Cruz Chazarreta (little playing time), but also the forwards Moretti and Piccioni. Two big players, who however played little: the first, after inflating the net twicegot injured and disappeared from the radar for quite a while, the second really has too short a time in Ferrara to seriously enter into an evaluation framework.

Promoted

We have identified 10 of them, including the reserve goalkeeper: good, but not very good, one might say. The team does not excel in play and continuity, but is still 2 points from the top and lives on the shoulders of some fundamental elements, which deserve mention. One of these is Paolo Carbonaro (7 goals, including 2 from penalties in the championship), capable of taking center stage day after day. The expert striker from Palermo was able to transform the grumblings of the first half of the first leg for the obvious missed opportunities in front of goal into applause for commendable performances made of running, sacrifice, connection, but also of heavy marking. Initially the offensive department was supported by the quality, shots and plays of Senigagliesi (4 goals and 3 assists) and Malivojevic (3 goals and 2 decisive passes): the opinion on them is therefore essentially positive, despite some unexpected missed passes. Cozzari also did very well (4 goals and 1 assist), deployed in multiple roles – including that of attacker – and unfortunately stopped by some ailments which took him away from several appearances.

In midfield, Leo Mazza and Ricci, all things considered, are impressive. The midfielder The Bolognese didn’t play at first, then, when he took up his space – coexisting with the number 10 – he made coach Di Benedetto change to 4-2-3-1. In the second round, further continuity will be needed on his part. Ricci, on the other hand, took a while to get into the rhythm of the team, but he never held back and his temperament – like it or not in the ways of acting seen on the pitch with referees and opponents – is a crucial ingredient for a team that must prevail every damn Sunday. Among the elements of the defense the omnipresent Dall’Ara and Mazzali did their part with more or less high peaks. Mambelli’s flexibility is to be appreciated, but also the responses received from Luciani in 2005, when called upon to defense of the white and blue posts.

Failed

Gaetani and Prezzabile enter the list, despite the 3+2 in terms of markings that could mislead and save them from the thumbs down. The former, in fact, never had an impact in the real sense of the term, disregarding expectations on his account and opening up exit market scenarios (possibly accelerated in the coming weeks). Prezzabile, however, made too many technical mistakes in several outings and only the space he will find in the return will be able to change the color of the judgment from red pencil. Not even Barazzetta, another offensive winger who is under pace (last year he scored 4 goals in Serie D), didn’t convince at all.

Di Bartolo would also have received an insufficient vote, although he had already been sold by the club to Brianza. THE’Art and Work Gabriele Mazza (2 goals and a few minutes available) and the other youngster Lanza have already greeted her. For them this is not a failurebut of a need to find minutes elsewhere and develop football close to home, in Sicily.

Postponed

From someone like Iglio, not so much for the captain’s ranks, but for the experience gained in professionalismone would have expected a real difference compared to the average of his teammates and, above all, of his opponents. Instead, no. Only a couple of unforgettable releases, others on the standards of the category and still others not good. More is needed. A statement that can also apply to goalkeeper Giacomel, without even going into too much detail.

Casella, after a horrible start and a remarkable period spent watching his companionshas significantly redeemed himself with the newfound confidence of the coach, but he will have to confirm himself, without mistakes. The Serbian Stoskovic took some space: at times he went well, at others he showed some gaps due to inexperience, but time is on his side, because the talents seem to be there. Marcos Chazarreta, finally, played more than one match and he too alternated good strokes to stay afloat and styles that were not exactly perfect for the blue-white waters.
